The purpose of the Business Advisory Centre - Northumberland is to provide information, support and development services to new/ exising small businesses & entrepreneurs in Northumberland. Most of the services provided are FREE.

The Business Advisory Centre - Northumberland is an initiative of the Ontario Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship in partnership with the Town of Cobourg and Northumberland County.

The BACN Provides the Following Services:

- "Self Help" area & resource centre/library

- Information and resource materials

- Workshops & seminars

- Business Name registration

- Consultations (including outreach consultations)

- Business plan development

- Business start-up packages

- Client follow up

- Youth Entrepreneur Programs (Business Plan Competition & Summer Company)

- Internet access & computer workstation

- Canada-Ontario Business Service Centre regional access site

- Multiple databases including Scott's & Ontario Business Directory

- Professional referrals
